"In 1998-2000, Thai Research Fund funded a project to conduct research on caves in Pang Ma Pha, Mae Hong Son Province. The project aimed to collect primary and secondary data relating to caves such as geology, hydrology, archaeology, forestry, wildlife, land use, and community. All data was organized as data base system in order to view relational data that could help classify caves and indicate cave transformation in the past, present and future. The research area covers Lang and Khong river basins in Amphoes Muang and Pang Ma Pha, Mae Hong Son Province...."

It features over 900 colour illustrations with brief descriptions of 106 caves.
